LATIN NAME: Juniperus communis.
SOURCE: Steam distilled from the berry.
Due to being a natural product harmless sediment may be present.
COLOUR: Clear, pale yellow.
ORIGIN: collected from Stara Planina and Rodopi Mountain Range in Bulgaria.
AROMA: Strong, gin like, fruity, sweet, woody
Antiseptic and lightly astringent used to keep skin clear and clean. Ideal treatment for oily teenage skin. Good for Congested skin, acne, pleasant woody aroma, makes it an ideal ingredient in acne treatments for teenagers, especially boys. Can be used directly on the skin, even if it tends to be dry. Useful in final rise as a hair tonic to encourage healthy growth. Males should like the aroma, as it is more masculine like.
QUALITIES: Antiseptic and astringent ideal for oily skin. Add to massage oil or in Bath Base for combating cellulite. Stimulating the flow of blood to the hair follicles. Has a cleansing effect on the body. Has a Ph 3.8 is which less likely to grow bacteria of fungus under ph 4.
The leaves - needles are traditionally burnt to purify the air. Juniper berries are used to flavour gin. Not to be mistaken for the cheaper Juniper leaf.
A member of the Cupressaceae family, an evergreen tree up to six metres. It is native to the Northern Hemisphere and has bluish stiff needles, small flowers and little round green berries turning black in the second year.
The Stara Planina mountain range (750 km long and part of the Alpine-Hamalayan mountain range.
We recommend misting your face with this hydrolat before applying our moisturising cream.
Use to refresh your face.
Hydrolats do not need to be diluted and can be applied to the skin. Soothing and mildly antiseptic.
Can be used as a room fragrance. Excellent in steam irons for refreshing clothes and scenting linen. Plants love to be sprayed with Hydrolats.
Other floral waters available; Chamomile Blue, Chamomile Roman , Lavender, Frankincense, Juniperberry, Peppermint, Rose otto Neroli and Witchhazel Hydrolats
Best kept refrigerated after opening & used within 2 months.
Everyone has to understand that, although they are distilled and free of bacteria and molds at the onset, they are waters.
If you open a bottle of water what will it do? Just by breathing on it or a floating speck of dust entering it mold can start growing.
Say someone coughs, sneezes, particle of dust or dirt floats in when open, it's now contaminated. We have no control of this.
All our products are of equal quality. We purchase the best we can find.
Only issue we ever had with hydrolat is occasional leaking. This can happen if plane pressure at high altitudes. It is rare but can happen. Usually only a few ml could seep out.
They last longer in fridge.
All in all we are overly cautious with hydrolats because they are water.
Rose water last the longest because of it's natural ethanol content, which has a preservative effect. Chamomile, Melissa and Yarrow waters have been known to go off quicker.
The only way around this is to put a low open cap PAO or add a preservative.

We don't add preservatives, so these will be needed to increase shelf life: food grade sources: 0.1% Citric Acid (oxidation inhibitor), 0.1% Potassium Sorbate (mold inhibitor). 0.1% Sodium Benzoate (bacteria inhibitor).
We do what we can to remove most sediment. If you find any sediment you want removed:
You can slowly pour into another sterile container, rinse out container with sediment with cooled boiled water, then pour back the Juniper-berry water.
