Rock Rose (Cistus)
Rock Rose (Cistus) Oil 100% Cistus (Rock Rose) Oil | Cistus ladaniferus | steam distilled from the flowers and leaves. Not to be mistaken for cheaper Cistus (Labdanum) absolute or resin.
Cistus oil's aroma has complex, sweet floral warm top notes and slightly woody, green base notes. This gives it a unique balance on its own.
Soothing, uplifting and calming nerves. Good for counteracting a gloomy day. Known to be excellent skin care oil, espesially beneficial to help renew ageing skin. I really like this oil. The minute I smelled Kobashi Cistus it had an uplifting effect.
Known as Esteva oil in Portugal.

Rose absolute damask
Kobashi's Rose absolute is the purest and we paid a higher premium for it this year . Any solvents used in the manufacturing have been removed by vacuum extraction. Due to the high cost of manufacturing, many Rose absolutes are diluted with synthetic Phenethyl alcohol, phthalates (plasticisers) and other chemicals. They may smell okay, but why pay for cheap chemicals when you can have Kobashi excellent Rose absolute.

Rose Otto

Due to samples received from so called "reputable companies" we believe most Rose otto on the market is adulterated.
Kobashi's Rose is the real true oil.
GBPEUR + Rose petal price. Just got a shock when I asked the price to restock Roseotto. It will cost 5000GBP per kg more than last time.
It's not just the corps demand. It's the crops too. Turkey had a low yield, so this contributed to the problem. In Bulgaria it was cold, rainy, windy and hailed. The flowers developed black rot and there wasn't a peak crop.
The pickers were only getting 40kg per day. They usually pick 50 to 70kg per day so they demanded more money per kg. The distiller uses 3600kg to 3800kg petal to get 1kg oil 5 ton of flowers per hectare.
If the Turks had a good crop the Bulgarian RoseOtto would have been a similar price to last year. In a month or two there will not be any Bulgarian Roseotto in Bulgaria. It will have been all bought. My distiller said that if everyone honors their contracts they will be short 45kg. In fact if I didn't purchase from them last year they wouldn't have been able to sell to me this year.
Nobody can tell you what the price will be next year. All I can say is that it has been going up year on year.
